“Credibility" and “Credentials" come from the Latin word “credenti," which means “trust." As the world of choices expands, so does the risk of contracting with a sub-par company. A seemingly minor credential may mean a world of difference to your level of trust in vendors.

Advanced Systems Plus has achieved Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) certification through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). According to the WBENC, certification requires a rigorous and stringent process to confirm the business is owned, managed, and controlled by a woman or women. WBENC is comprised of 14 regional partner organizations. WBENC certification is one of the most widely recognized and respected certifications in the nation. It is accepted by thousands of corporations within the country and a number of federal and government agencies. Source: http://www.wbenc.org/

On its face, being a woman-owned business in this day and age is fairly common. WBE certification, a process to formally certify woman-owned businesses for purposes of government contracting and the like, is becoming more important and prestigious.
While Advanced Systems Plus, Inc. (ASPI) has just received WBE certification, which “proves" woman-owned predominance, it’s the untold story behind this certification that merits further discussion. Following are key reasons to work with ASPI as a WBE-certified business:
1. It’s a sign of constant effort to improve. While WBE certification itself doesn’t require a particular level of skill or competence, going through the process establishes the fact that ASPI will never stand on its laurels. Finding ongoing ways to do better for clients is encoded in the company’s DNA.
2. It shows intent to continue growing.  –With the massive economic challenges facing American business today, many have stopped expanding, downsized or closed their doors. “Common to all businesses with a long history is the ability to continue moving forward while others are standing still or retreating," notes Maryjane Casey, ASPI president. “Even in a stagnant economy, getting WBE certified is one way we can demonstrate our commitment to continued improvement without any corner-cutting. Clients can count on us to perform at the same high level we’ve maintained for the past two decades."
3.  It can provide competitive advantage for client stakeholders. Even if WBE certification doesn’t directly benefit a client financially, it well may prove a strong selling point for them with their stakeholders—including employees, strategic partners, suppliers, clients, and even financial backers and advisors.
“If, for example, a client of ours seeks financial backing from entities that look favorably upon WBE-certified businesses, we would hope that they would cite us as one example of their strong commitment to woman-owned business. As part of our ongoing drive to do better for our clients, we look for ways to shine the spotlight on them. This is one example of how to do that."
